How Invites Work

Nothing on FriendsWithTools is public. Invites are how your people get in, and the only way anyone ever sees your tools.

Friend Invites

Friendship is mutual accept: you send a request (by name, email, or your invite link), they say yes, and your shelves open to each other. Until both of you have agreed, neither of you sees anything.

Group Invites

A group is an invite-only space for a crowd: a street, a congregation, a crew. An invite arrives as a link or a code. Open the link (it works in the app or in your browser) or paste the code on the join screen, accept, and the group's shelf opens up. Only members see what a group shares.

Sending and Managing Invites

Your invite link lives in the app under Friends, and each group's link lives in its settings. Links can expire or be revoked by whoever sent them. If one has expired, ask your friend to send a fresh one.

What an Invite Doesn't Do

Accepting an invite never shares your location, your address, or your tools with anyone beyond the friend or group you just joined. There are no public listings and no strangers.
