Getting Started

FriendsWithTools starts with your people. Here's the first ten minutes, in order.

1. Add Your People

Find friends by name or email, or send your invite link. If you don't know anyone here yet, turn on Nearby to discover neighbors who've opted in. You see a name and an approximate area, never an address. Friendship is mutual accept, so nothing is visible until you've both said yes.

2. Put a Few Tools on the Shelf

The quick-add wizard lets you check off common tools you already own: about a minute, photos whenever. Adding even one or two gives your friends a reason to look, and you choose who sees each tool.

3. Ask Like a Friend

Browse what your people can lend and send a request with a return date attached. The owner answers in one tap, you coordinate pickup in the message thread, and reminders handle the due date.

Groups, When You Want Them

Groups are an optional layer for a crowd: a street, a congregation, a makerspace. Friends alone work fine; create or join a group when the crowd outgrows one-to-one friendships.
