Makita's cordless miter saws use the 18Vx2 dual-battery system to hit 36V. The XSL06Z (10" sliding) is the flagship, and it's one of the most capable cordless miter saws on the market. Makita also has the XSL04ZU (10" single bevel) for carpenters who want less complexity.

Makita 18V LXT (18Vx2) Platform

Both miter saws use two LXT batteries for 36V operation. 5.0Ah batteries are the minimum recommended. Makita also offers an AC adapter (sold separately) for shop use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the Makita miter saw work with one battery?

No. The 18Vx2 miter saws require two batteries installed to operate. They won't turn on with a single battery.

What is AWS on Makita miter saws?

Auto-start Wireless System. It wirelessly triggers a compatible Makita dust extractor when you pull the trigger. No hose delay, no cord to trip over. The miter saw sends a Bluetooth signal to start the vacuum.
