Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Kobalt belt sander worth $49?
It's the cheapest 3x21 belt sander from a recognized brand. The belt tracking isn't as refined as Makita or Bosch, and the dust collection is minimal. For a handful of projects a year, it's a reasonable buy.
Should I get the Kobalt or the Craftsman CMEW400?
The Craftsman costs $10 more but has slightly better belt tracking. Both are budget corded sanders. If you already buy tools at Lowe's, pick whichever has the better warranty terms at purchase time.
