FastCap makes specialty tape measures for woodworkers and cabinet makers. Their PMS (Pad-Standard) series prints fractional markings in large text on the blade, which eliminates squinting at 16th marks. The Lefty/Righty model reads correctly from either side, which is useful for left-handed users and for reading the tape upside down.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Pad-Standard markings?

Each fraction (1/16, 1/8, 3/16, etc.) is printed as a number on the blade instead of just a tick mark. At 1/2", you see "1/2" printed. At 3/16", you see "3/16". No more counting lines.

Is FastCap a good brand for general construction?

For shop work and cabinetry, yes. For job-site use, the blade coating and standout aren't as durable as a FatMax or Milwaukee STUD. If you measure in a shop more than on a roof, FastCap is worth trying.
