DeWalt sells a few stud finders that sit in the mid-range between Zircon and Bosch. The DW0150 is their 3-in-1 scanner with stud, metal, and AC detection. Not as deep-scanning as the Bosch GMS120, but cheaper and adequate for residential work.

Frequently Asked Questions

DeWalt vs Zircon MultiScanner?

Similar capabilities at similar prices. The DeWalt has a slightly better display. The Zircon has a deeper metal detection mode. For basic stud finding with wire/metal detection, either works. Pick based on price and availability.

Can the DeWalt detect PEX pipe?

No. PEX and CPVC are invisible to standard stud finders. Only professional-grade scanners like the Bosch D-tect detect plastic pipe. For most residential work, this doesn't matter since studs and wires are the main concerns.
