DeWalt's miter saw lineup spans from the compact DCS361B (20V, 7-1/4") for trim work to the DHS790AT2 (FLEXVOLT, 12" sliding) for framing. The DCS361B is the most popular cordless miter saw on the market, and for good reason: it fits in a truck bed and handles 90% of finish carpentry.
DeWalt 20V MAX / FLEXVOLT 60V Platform
The compact DCS361B runs on 20V MAX batteries (5.0Ah recommended). The full-size DHS790AT2 uses two FLEXVOLT batteries simultaneously for 120V equivalent power. Both can also run on AC power with an adapter.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a sliding miter saw?
If you only cut 2x4 and smaller trim, no. The non-sliding DCS361B handles that. If you need to crosscut 2x8, 2x10, or wider stock, you need the slide. Most finish carpenters start with the compact and add a slider later.
Can the DeWalt DCS361B cut crown molding?
Yes, but only up to about 3-1/4" nested crown. For larger profiles, you need the 12" DHS790AT2 or a corded 10" miter saw.
