Frequently Asked Questions
6-inch or 8-inch bench grinder?
The 6-inch handles most home shop tasks: sharpening chisels, shaping metal, deburring, and cleaning up welds. The 8-inch removes material faster and handles larger workpieces. If you sharpen lawn mower blades or grind heavy stock, go 8-inch.
Do I need to replace the stock grinding wheels?
The stock wheels work for general grinding. If you're sharpening edge tools (chisels, plane irons), replace the coarse wheel with a white aluminum oxide wheel. It runs cooler and won't burn the edge as easily.
