DeWalt makes 4-1/2-inch and 5-inch cordless angle grinders on the 20V MAX and FLEXVOLT platforms. The DCG413 is the workhorse. Paddle switch and slide switch variants are both available.

DeWalt 20V MAX / FLEXVOLT Platform

The DCG413 runs on standard 20V MAX batteries. The DCG418 benefits from FLEXVOLT 60V packs for sustained heavy grinding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need FLEXVOLT for an angle grinder?

For occasional grinding and cutting, the 20V MAX DCG413 is plenty. For cutting rebar, grinding welds all day, or using 6-inch discs, the FLEXVOLT DCG418 maintains power better under sustained load.

Paddle switch or slide switch?

Paddle switch (trigger) is safer because the grinder stops when you let go. Slide switch locks on, which is convenient for long grinding sessions but requires more attention. Most safety codes prefer paddle switch.
